Ischgl or Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis?
These two are close on 6 of 9 measures. That is the honest answer: the numbers will not choose for you, so the difference below that matters to you is the one to decide on.
Austria
Ischgl
High, snow-sure, immaculately lifted, and the loudest après in the Alps. Almost all the skiing sits above 2,000 m, which is why it reliably delivers into April.
Worth knowing. The après is relentless. If you want quiet, this is the wrong valley.

Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis
Probably the best family resort in the Alps: an underground railway into a car-free village, childcare that starts at three months, and 214 km of piste above it. Priced accordingly, and worth it if the children are small.
Worth knowing. Priced for families who have already decided. It is not a bargain.

Bold marks the winner. Rows where neither is bold are close enough that the difference would not change a decision. Cost excludes travel, which depends on where you leave from.
Piste kilometres, lift counts and prices are indicative and compiled from public sources — they have not yet been checked against the resort's own figures for this season. Costs are planning estimates, not quotes. Spotted one that is wrong? Tell us.
